Foreign documents and recognition procedures, handled by a single practice
We bring together legal and linguistic expertise to make your foreign qualification count in Italy, at every stage of the procedure.

Two kinds of expertise in a single practice
Making a foreign qualification count in Italy calls for two kinds of expertise that rarely come together, the legal command of administrative procedures and the linguistic command of foreign documents. riconoscimentititoli.com was created to unite them. Those who come to us do not have to coordinate several parties, a translator, a consultant and an intermediary for legalisations. They find a single practice that follows the whole matter, from the first assessment to the final decree.

What we do
We handle every stage of the procedure, leaving you unsupported at no point.
- The gathering and management of foreign documents, even once you have returned to Italy.
- Legalisations and the Apostille under the Hague Convention.
- Sworn and certified translations, by official translators.
- And the conduct of the recognition procedure itself, academic, administrative or professional, through to the decree and to enrolment with the professional body where required.
We prepare a complete file that holds up before the administration, and that is what makes the difference between a matter that moves and one that stalls.

- Legal consultant specialising in the recognition of qualifications, administrative law and immigration law
- Official translator and court-appointed expert, Court of Rome
- Expert translator, Rome Chamber of Commerce
- Translator recognised by the Consulate General of Italy in London
- Qualified translator MITI and MCIL (United Kingdom), Member of FIT
Michela de Julio
The practice is led by Michela de Julio, founder of MMW Europe Ltd and creator of riconoscimentititoli.com. Over thirty years she has made academic and professional recognition her field of specialisation, uniting two kinds of expertise that seldom coexist in the same person, the legal command of administrative law and the linguistic command of an official translator.
Her training reflects this twofold calling. A law graduate in Italy, in administrative law, with a thesis on the recognition of the legal value of academic qualifications and professional titles obtained abroad, she also holds a master’s degree in Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures from the Sapienza University of Rome. She further holds a Master’s in immigration law and attended the University of Law in London in preparation for the qualifying examination as a Solicitor in England and Wales, deepening her knowledge of the common law system.
The Master’s in immigration law gave her a thorough command of the Italian rules on the entry and residence of foreign nationals and of the procedures for issuing visas, whether for work, employed, self-employed and highly qualified, or for study, from the examination before the consular authorities through to the residence permit. Alongside this stands the whole field of Italian citizenship, in recognition by descent and in acquisition by marriage or by residence, with the related procedures before consulates, municipalities and the Ministry of the Interior.
Since 1995 she has served as an official translator, court-appointed expert (consulente tecnico d’ufficio) and sworn expert of the Court of Rome, as an expert translator of the Rome Chamber of Commerce and as a translator recognised by the Consulate General of Italy in London. She is registered with the Rome Bar as a trainee lawyer (praticante avvocato) and, since 2002, with the Order of Journalists of Lazio, and after eighteen years contributing to La Repubblica, Affari & Finanza she now writes legal articles on the recognition of academic and professional qualifications, Italian citizenship and sworn translation. A Qualified Member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (MITI) and of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (MCIL), the professional bodies that in the United Kingdom authorise the certification of official translations, and a Qualified Member of FIT, she works in Italian, English, French and Spanish, among other languages, and coordinates an international network of official translators covering every language, so as to facilitate the administrative procedures for documents issued in any country.
Over these years she has worked regularly with universities, professional bodies, public authorities and companies, as well as with numerous law firms in Italy and the United Kingdom, and has assisted a wide range of private clients in matters of considerable complexity, with a degree of technical and documentary accuracy for which she is recognised.
